El-Shehab for Human Rights received a distress call to save the journalist / Salah AIemam Ahmed, author and journalist writer in several newspapers, because of his serious health condition. Salah suffers from complications of diabetes, blood pressure, liver, an injury to his left leg and a sebaceous cyst in his knee that led to a tumor that restricts his movement.
The Egyptian authorities are reluctant to release him, even though he is in pretrial detention. Salah was arrested on September 24, 2021 and placed in Abu-Zaabal-2 prison, pending the case 910 for the year 2021 assigned to the Supreme State Security court.
El-Shehab for Human Rights condemns the violations against the journalist, and calls for his immediate release and provision of the necessary treatment.
