The Czech Republic threatens to deport, the politically opposing young Egyptian, Ahmed Motawa, back to Egypt; after holding him in prison and treating him inhumanely. Ahmed is on hunger strike since September 30 until now.
Ahmed had left Egypt 6 years ago, after a military court sentence was issued against him. He was arrested in Berlin and deported to the Czech Republic. There he was locked up at an unknown facility where he was mistreated. Then, he was sentenced to 90 days in prison without a trial.
Ahmed was assaulted, imprisoned for two days in solitary confinement, left in the cold without covers, denied external communication, and received insufficient bad food. Currently, despite submitting an asylum application, he received information that after serving his sentence, he will be deported to Egypt.
This young man demands his immediate release and to undergo a fair trial.
El-Shehab for Human Rights stands in solidarity with Ahmed, condemns the violations against him, calls for his immediate release and abstaining from deporting him to Egypt.
