Thursday 18 May 2023

Death of the citizen Sameh Mohamed Ahmed Mansour, 58 years old, a mathematics teacher, in Badr Center Hospital (Badr-1 Prison) due to medical negligence. The prison administration was intransigent in treating him despite his suffering from atrophy of kidney function.
Sameh had been arrested in August 2013, and imprisoned for Case No. 37 of 2014 felonies of Port Said and served a 7-year prison sentence and was released in 2020. He was re-arrested again in September 2021 until he died, and his son “Ahmed” is also arrested in Badr Center 1, and trapped illegally in prison system using what is known as “revolving door” by including him in a military case.
El-Shehab for Human Rights holds the Ministry of Interior responsible for the death, and demands an investigation into its circumstances, as well as the release of all detainees.
