Death of the citizen “Ashraf Abdel-Aleem” due to medical negligence in his prison

Death of the citizen/ Ashraf Abdel-Aleem Elsayed - General Manager of Misr Insurance Company, on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in Al-Qanater Prison 1, due to medical negligence.
Ashraf was arrested in April 2022 while he was sick and in dire need of medical care, and was subjected to medical negligence that led to his death. Last Monday, his lawyer submitted a request to release him due to the seriousness of his condition, but the prosecution renewed his detention.
Ashraf was suffering from severe liver failure, immunity problems, hypotension, and acute anemia, and he was constantly fainting.
El-Shehab for Human Rights holds the Ministry of Interior responsible for the death, and calls for an investigation into its circumstances, as well as the release of all detainees.
