"Six Months of Forced Disappearance: Alexandria Family Still Detained Without Justification"

🔴 Six months after enforced disappearance... and the detention continues without justification for the Alexandria family!

The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights documents the ongoing suffering of a group of detainees, who appeared about 8 months ago before the prosecution after a full 6 months of enforced disappearance, during which they were subjected to severe physical and psychological torture, leaving marks on their bodies for more than a month.

📍 Throughout the period of disappearance:

They remained handcuffed and blindfolded for a full six months.

They were denied access to their medications despite suffering from chronic illnesses.

They were subjected to 24-hour camera surveillance.

They spent weeks in the same clothes they were arrested in, washing them and wearing them wet until they received new clothes after two months.

❗️ Despite repeated assurances from security officers that they are "not guilty" and that reports confirm this – they were surprised to be referred to the prosecution and then to prisons, without any real investigations, and without knowing the reason for their detention until today!

⚖️ For 8 months, their detention has been renewed every 45 days, without allowing them to speak before the judge, and sometimes the renewal occurs without their presence at all!

⁉️ The question now is:

Why are they still in prison?!

Why are homes being demolished, and families displaced, without any clear crime or accusation?!

🔁 The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights demands their immediate release, accountability for those responsible for the crime of enforced disappearance and torture, and an end to these grave violations that contravene the constitution, law, and all international treaties.
