🔴 Forced Disappearance in Egypt.. Shocking Numbers
The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center documents the continued rise of the phenomenon of forced disappearance in Egypt from 2013 until August 2025, where the number of individuals subjected to the crime of forced disappearance during this period reached 19,795 people.
📊 Temporal Distribution:
- Year 2013 – 2014: 560 people
- Year 2015: 1,720 people
- Year 2016: 1,300 people
- Year 2017: 2,171 people
- Year 2018: 905 people
- Year 2019: 1,523 people
- Year 2020: 3,045 people
- Year 2021: 1,536 people
- Year 2022: 1,887 people
- Year 2023: 2,369 people
- Year 2024: 1,642 people
- Year 2025 until August: 1,137 people
🔹 The Al-Shehab Center emphasizes that these numbers reflect the magnitude of serious human rights violations, and reiterates its demand to stop this systematic crime, to immediately reveal the fate of all forcibly disappeared individuals, and to ensure accountability for those responsible.
