🔴 Despite the deterioration of their health conditions.. The continued detention of journalist Sayed Saber and Nourhan Daraz due to "posts on Facebook"

📌 The Second Terrorism Circuit of the Cairo Criminal Court, convened at the Badr Courts Complex, decided on Monday, September 15, 2025, to renew the detention of journalist Sayed Saber for 45 days pending investigations in case No. (6499) for the year 2024, as well as renewing the detention of Nourhan El-Sayed Ahmed Daraz for the same period pending case No. (3528) for the year 2024.

✦ The lawyer from the Egyptian Center who attended the detention renewal session for Saber requested his release due to the deterioration of his health condition, as he underwent heart surgery on April 25, 2025, after which he was transferred to the medical center in the prison complex before being returned to his detention in the Tenth of Ramadan Prison.

✦ As for Nourhan Daraz – a retired director at the Social Affairs Directorate – she was arrested from her home in the Gardens of the Pyramids in Giza Governorate on August 5, 2024, and was forcibly disappeared for 12 days before appearing before the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the Fifth Settlement on August 17, 2024.

⚠️ Nourhan expressed her suffering inside her detention due to the denial of medications and blankets, despite her urgent need for medical care, as she suffers from a tumor in her uterus that requires urgent surgery, in addition to needing thyroid medication after its removal, as well as suffering from other chronic diseases that require continuous health monitoring.

✦ The continued detention of a journalist and a sick citizen due to "posts on Facebook" constitutes a blatant violation of fundamental rights and a direct threat to their lives.
