Five Years of Injustice… Verdict in Huda Abdel Hamid's Case Postponed Until December 12, 2025

Five years of injustice… and the ruling in the case of Ms. Huda Abdel Hamid has been postponed until December 12, 2025

The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center condemns the continued detention of Ms. Huda Abdel Hamid for the fifth consecutive year, despite the fact that her only "crime" was exercising a fundamental human right: demanding an investigation into the torture of her son, Abdel Rahman Al-Sheikh, inside Minya prison.

Details of the case as narrated by her son, Omar Al-Sheikh, yesterday:

"Today, November 17, 2025, is the session for the ruling in my mother's case… after 4 and a half years of her detention just because she demanded an investigation into the assault on my brother inside Minya prison!

She was arrested along with my father and my younger sister, who had not yet turned eighteen…

My mother has advanced-stage diabetes, which has affected some bodily functions, and she needs urgent surgical interventions that have not been allowed until now."

Since her arrest on April 27, 2021, Ms. Huda has been subjected to:

Long-term visitation ban

Deliberate medical neglect

Total isolation in the cells

Continuous security pressure on the family

Despite the deterioration of her health and the absence of any legal basis for her continued detention, the ruling has been postponed again to December 12, 2025.

The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center demands:

The immediate and unconditional release of Ms. Huda Abdel Hamid

An urgent investigation into the conditions of her detention and the deterioration of her health

Accountability for those responsible for the violations she has suffered
