⚫️ The case of Ahmed Abdel-Moneim Abu al-Fotouh reserved for judgment
The Appeals Criminal Court in Badr, chaired by Counselor Hamada El-Sawy, has reserved the case of Ahmed Abdel-Moneim Abu al-Fotouh for judgment on February 9, 2026, after listening today to the pleadings and receiving the final memoranda from the defense team.
The defense team included:
▪️ Dr. Saleem Al-Awa
▪️ Mr. Ahmed Abu Al-Ala Madi
▪️ Mr. Khaled Ali
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed was previously sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison on charges of joining the Muslim Brotherhood, before the proceedings were reopened and the sentence was amended in his presence to 5 years in prison.
The defense team has appealed the ruling and concluded the pleadings today, awaiting the final judgment on February 9, 2026.
