🚨 By Name | Officials Responsible for the Deterioration of Conditions for Political Detainees at Beni Suef Central Prison

Al-Shehab Human Rights Center expresses its deep concern regarding the documented information it has received about the serious violations faced by political detainees at Beni Suef Central Prison that affect their lives and physical and psychological safety.

📌 Key Violations Observed:

▪️ Denial of medical care and necessary medication for patients, especially the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.

▪️ Obstinacy in transferring critical cases to specialized hospitals.

▪️ Severe overcrowding in detention rooms, where about 40 detainees are held in rooms with a capacity of no more than 10 individuals.

▪️ Harsh treatment and practices that constitute a blatant violation of the right to health and human dignity.

📌 According to the available information, the following individuals are responsible for these violations:

- National Security Officer known by the code name: “Mohamed Hossam Mido”

- Head of Prison Investigations: “Mohamed Abdel Aziz”

- National Security Representative: “Hani Mohamed”

The continuation of these conditions represents a serious breach of constitutional and legal standards and rules for the treatment of prisoners, putting the lives of detainees in direct danger.

🔎 Al-Shehab Center demands:

▪️ Urgent intervention from the relevant prosecution to exercise its oversight role over the prison.

▪️ An independent investigation into the violations and accountability of those responsible.

▪️ Immediate improvement of detention conditions and ensuring full medical care for patients and the elderly.

▪️ Enabling independent oversight bodies to visit the prison and assess its conditions.

Respecting human dignity within places of detention is a legal obligation that cannot be evaded under any circumstances.
