Continued Enforced Disappearance of Young Man Mansour Ibrahim Mansour Ibrahim Muhammad Since June 2018 After He Was Taken From His Home in Arish, North Sinai

Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights Monitoring documents the continued enforced disappearance of young man Mansour Ibrahim Mansour Ibrahim Muhammad, who is currently 28 years old, and a resident of the Abu Ali hamlet in the Arish administrative area in North Sinai Governorate, since June 2018, after he was taken from his home, without any disclosure of the location of his detention or his fate to date.

According to his family’s account, Mansour was taken from inside his home in June 2018, and since that date all news of him has completely ceased. His family has been unable to know where he is or his legal status, amid his continued disappearance for more than eight years.

The family confirmed that they have no knowledge of any charges directed against him. They say they are living through ongoing human and psychological suffering as a result of his absence, amid fears for his life and safety, and with a continuous hope to know his fate and to be reassured about him.

Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights Monitoring expresses deep concern about the continued disappearance of Mansour Ibrahim Mansour Ibrahim Muhammad throughout these years. The Center stresses that the taking of any citizen from his home, followed by the disappearance of his news without disclosing the location of his detention or his legal status, according to the family’s account, requires a serious and urgent investigation by the competent authorities.

The Center calls on the Public Prosecutor and the relevant authorities to immediately reveal his whereabouts and fate, conduct a serious and independent investigation into the circumstances of his being taken from his home and his disappearance, ensure his physical and psychological safety, enable his family to be reassured about him, and release him immediately if it is established that he is being held without any legal basis.
