Al-Shehab Human Rights Center monitors the continued forced disappearance of student Ibrahim Salim Ibrahim Hassan Samiri, a resident of El-Arish in North Sinai Governorate, since his disappearance on 28 December 2014 from his home in the Al-Fawakheria area, near Abu Bakr Mosque, without any disclosure of his whereabouts or fate to date.

According to information received by the Center, Ibrahim’s news has been cut off since that date, and no information has been available regarding where he is being held or his legal status, amid the continuation of his disappearance for nearly 12 years, alongside fears for his life and safety, and the human suffering his family endures as a result of the persistent uncertainty surrounding his fate.

Al-Shehab Human Rights Center expresses its profound concern regarding the continued disappearance of student Ibrahim Salim Ibrahim Hassan Samiri throughout these years, stressing that depriving his family of knowing his fate constitutes a violation of their fundamental rights, and calls for urgent intervention by the competent authorities to uncover the circumstances of his disappearance.

The Center calls on the Public Prosecutor and the relevant authorities to immediately reveal his whereabouts and fate, conduct serious and independent investigations into the circumstances of his disappearance, ensure his physical and psychological safety, enable his family to be reassured about him, and release him immediately if it is established that he has been arbitrarily detained.
