The death of engineer Sayyed Abdullah Atwa inside the Tenth of Ramadan prison in Sharqia Governorate, due to deliberate medical negligence.
Engineer Sayyed is from the village of Kfour Najm – Ibrahimia Center – Sharqia Governorate, and he had been detained since 2013, remaining in custody for over ten years.
Engineer Atwa was a civil engineer and businessman before he was arrested.
His body was transferred today to Al-Ahrar Hospital in Zagazig City, after his health deteriorated inside his detention due to deliberate and systematic medical negligence against political prisoners.
The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights considers his death and the prior deliberate neglect of his treatment to be a serious violation of the law.
The center demands the Public Prosecutor to urgently open an investigation with all responsible parties and hold those accountable.
