news Saturday 25 October 2025

⚠️ The continued enforced disappearance of the two young men, Mohsen Mohamed and Ahmed Sherif, since last July

The Al-Shehab Human Rights Center expresses its deep concern regarding the ongoing crime of enforced disappearance against the two young men:

Mohsen Mohamed Mustafa (27 years old)

Ahmed Sherif Ahmed Abdel Wahab (23 years old)

Since they voluntarily surrendered to the security forces on the evening of Friday, July 25, following their live broadcast from inside the National Security Agency headquarters in Ma'asra.

On the same evening, security forces stormed the homes of the two young men in the 15th of May area south of Cairo, terrorizing family members and assaulting and breaking the contents of the homes before leaving without providing any reasons.

Despite more than three months having passed since the incident, the Egyptian authorities continue to forcibly hide the two young men, and their place of detention or legal status has not been disclosed to date.

The Al-Shehab Center confirms that their continued detention in this manner constitutes a complete crime of enforced disappearance according to international law, raising serious concerns about their physical and psychological safety.

The center demands that the Ministry of Interior immediately disclose the fate of the two young men and the location of their detention, and calls on the Public Prosecutor to open an urgent and independent investigation into the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
