El-Shehab Center for Human Rights issues its annual report entitled “The Human Rights Landscape,” which examines the state of human rights in Egypt during the year 2025. The report is released within the framework of the Center’s independent human rights role in monitoring, documenting, and analyzing the situation of rights and public freedoms, based on national laws and relevant international standards and conventions.
The report documents recurring patterns of serious violations, including those affecting civil and political rights, freedom of opinion and expression, and conditions in prisons and places of detention. It also addresses systematic violations against human rights defenders, political opponents, and peaceful protesters, as well as related practices such as enforced disappearance, torture, and medical negligence.
The report further highlights violations against women and children, including physical and psychological violence, digital violations, and cases of violence and harassment, in addition to the phenomenon of street children, reflecting shortcomings in protection and care policies.
The report provides an overall analytical reading of the landscape of violations throughout the year and concludes with a set of human rights recommendations aimed at halting violations, ensuring accountability, and improving the human rights situation, in a manner that guarantees respect for human dignity and the rule of law.
