Message from a father to all officials in Egypt
My son has been forcibly disappeared for the ninth year
Mahmoud Essam Mahmoud Ahmed, my only son, an engineer, has been forcibly disappeared for nearly 9 years, and until now I do not know his whereabouts or what his charges are
I have not left any place in searching for my son, but to no avail, as if I am a needle lost in a haystack
If my son is accused of anything, why has there been no announcement of the charges against him? Nine years have passed, and we still cannot find any charges fabricated against my son
I appeal to Mr. / the President
and Mr. / the Minister of Interior
and Mr. / the Attorney General
and I appeal to all officials in the state
Where is my only son?
I am now seventy years old and I am tired from the constant search for my son
I am not asking for anything other than to know my son's whereabouts; guide me to where he is
If he is accused of something, let me know what his charges are
My son was married, and it had not been four months since his marriage when he was kidnapped; his wife was pregnant at that time
Now he has a son who is now 8 years old and asks me where his father is
And I tell him that his father is traveling while I cry inside
Until when will my son remain missing?
Who can bear the absence of his son for this long without knowing where he is
Alive or dead
My son used to work with the Resala Association, which provides water, electricity, and sewage services to poor villages to bring happiness to the needy
My son is not a thug, nor a thief, nor a drug dealer
He has never entered a police station in his life; everyone testifies to his morals and respect for both young and old
His mother, from the sadness and crying for her only son, has undergone multiple surgeries and has been bedridden since then
And I, from the depth of my sorrow, have just come out of surgery
Why is this happening to us?
I appeal to all state officials to intervene
May God protect Egypt from all harm
