🔴 With the continued ban on visits for years, deliberate medical neglect, and the interruption of news...
The children of the detainees imagine their loved ones behind bars in scenes closer to a nightmare.
In a painful testimony expressing deep human concern, Ahmed Amin Al-Sayrafi wrote about his father, the political detainee Engineer Amin Abdel Hamid Al-Sayrafi:
"This is not a staged scene… this is what happened to my dad.
And I am a million percent sure of it.
They opened the cell on him and he was in this condition… and since then, there has been a complete interruption of news.
Clearly… I am worried about his life and health.
And the question that is killing me:
Is Engineer Amin Al-Sayrafi even alive?
The last we heard was that he lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital… and then everything disappeared.
No news… no visits… no reassurance.
Pray for us… and God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights affirms that the continued ban on visits, the interruption of information, and deliberate medical neglect represent a serious violation of the right to life and physical safety, amounting to cruel and inhuman treatment prohibited constitutionally and legally.
🔴 The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights demands:
The Attorney General to fulfill his constitutional and legal duties urgently.
To compel the prison authority to immediately disclose the location of Engineer Amin Al-Sayrafi's detention and his health condition.
To enable him to receive visits and communicate with his family without restrictions.
To stop the systematic violations against opponents inside places of detention in Egypt.
Silence on such issues threatens lives.
And revealing the truth is a right that does not lapse over time.
