9 years of violations and recharging against the young man Ahmed Sabry Nasif
For nine consecutive years, the young man Ahmed Sabry Nasif has been subjected to a series of security pursuits and serious violations, as he has been accused and investigated in connection with nearly ten consecutive cases that almost overlap in their accusations, reflecting a pattern of recharging and re-accusation.
During these years, he has repeatedly been forcibly disappeared and detained in unknown locations, before being presented again to investigative authorities each time a decision is made to release him.
The beginning of these incidents dates back to January 2017, when Ahmed Sabry Nasif was arrested; at that time, he was a high school student aged 18, and since then, he has been deprived of completing his studies due to his continued detention without legal basis.
Despite the issuance of acquittals in four cases and multiple decisions to release him in the remaining cases, the relevant authorities have refrained from implementing these decisions, and his detention has continued in blatant violation of the law and binding judicial rulings.
The Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights affirms that the re-direction of similar accusations against a young man who has spent nearly nine years in detention, without a single judicial ruling convicting him of any crime, represents a serious violation of the principles of justice and the rule of law, undermining the authority of judicial rulings and decisions.
The Al-Shehab Center demands:
▪️ The immediate release of Ahmed Sabry Nasif.
▪️ The cessation of the policy of recharging and re-accusation based on the same incidents.
▪️ Respect and implementation of judicial decisions issued for his release.
▪️ The end of using prolonged detention as a tool of punishment outside the framework of the law.
